Offered by CD Outdoors. This hands-on two day camp will teach sport fishing while promoting an awareness of and appreciation for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Some kayak instruction included. No experience or equipment necessary. Please bring a lunch and dress for the weather. Camp is rain or shine.

Conquest Beach

This two day camp experience will plunge participants into the wet and wild world of wetland ecology! Campers will get their hands dirty in the wetland areas around Matapeake Beach while learning about the importance of wetland ecosystems! Each day will include games, hands-on projects, nature observations and investigations. Snacks will be provided but campers will need to bring a lunch and a water bottle. Please dress for the weather. Rain or shine. Indoor facilities will be available. Cost: $40

This four week version of our Tumbling class is perfect if you want to try out a new program or extend your tumbling experience beyond the eight week session. Cost: $35

Leagues for Co-Rec ages 6 –  7 and boys and girls 8  –  9 are offered at four elementary schools: Sudlersville, Centreville, Grasonville and Matapeake. Weekday practices and Saturday games are held throughout the county. Once teams are formed, coaches will notify all players of practice times and dates. The leagues play games from January – March, 2011. Playing ages determined as of September 1, 2010.  Note: Grasonville Area – home court for games is Matapeake Elementary. Registration deadline: October 1, 2010. Registrations received after this date will be charged a $15 late fee. Cost is $75

You’ve seen the television series – here’s your opportunity to compete in a survivor like challenge of your own! Wetland Survivor puts physical, mental and strategic limits to the test. Participants must rely on their wetland knowledge as they compete in field-day style challenges designed to introduce them to the functions and values of wetlands. Bring a lunch and a water bottle. Please wear outdoor appropriate clothing. Cost: $20

The following youth field hockey leagues will start in August. No experience necessary.  Girls Youth Leagues include Peewees entering grades 1–2, Juniors entering grades 3 – 5 and Seniors entering grades 6 – 8.  Equipment needed: mouth guard, shin guards and hockey sticks. Peewee and Junior girls’ sticks may be provided if necessary. Peewee Division will be mainly skill development. If we get enough players we will set up a few games. Open Gym For Youth With Disabilities is a unique recreational program designed so that children with any type of disability can participate in sports, particularly if their disability makes it difficult for them to join other mainstream programs. Activities will be tailored to meet the interest and ability level of each participant. The kids can learn basic skills and participate on an individual basis with a small group in basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, volleyball, bowling and kickball. A parent or guardian is required to attend and may help or participate as needed. Cost:

This 12 week workshop presented by Tiffany Shannon Productions will focus on all aspects of
putting on a full length musical. At the end of the program, students will produce and perform in a production of Attack of the Killer Grasshoppers, a tale of mammoth, musical grasshoppers that are threatening the world! This workshop is centered on teamwork and all participants are guaranteed a role in the final performance. Performance and dress rehearsal will be at Kennard Elementary on Saturday, January 15, 2010. Purpose: To develop fundamental basketball skills in athletes looking to improve in the areas of dribbling, passing, defense and shooting techniques.
Focus: Through conditioning, drills and structured competitive settings, athletes will learn the fundamentals of the game of basketball. All athletes will be instructed from their present ability level with added emphasis on raising their overall basketball I.Q. Participants should be able to dribble with both hands and play on a “regulation” size basket. Participants will receive a certificate. Cost: $65
